A Place to share my scrappy adventures, some photography, and bits of lifeMommyManderzhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11204228770153061915noreply@blogger.comBlogger17125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6606503554984984640.post-1289622435301116742012-12-25T20:35:00.000-08:002012-12-25T20:35:13.573-08:00Nevermind the glare...<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Hi there to all in blog land! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I know it's been a whole minute since my last post, I just wanted to share my most recent layout of the newest member of our family, Xavier Chase. After starting my new job a devastatingly short 8 weeks after his birth it's been harder than I ever could have imagined trying to do it all. In fact, as I sit here now I'm chicken pecking the keyboard with one hand as I hold bubby in my left arm.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
All I can say is it's all worth it. Although I'm constantly griping about my job, at least I have one. I know many are out this holiday season and I have many blessings.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Now, as far as this page goes I'm split. I like it, I'm claiming it (obviously since it has its own blog post), but I just wish I could make it better. I just don't get how my title can look so straight looking at it, then when I upload the pictures it's so obviously crooked. There's always been something about my style that's a little messy. No matter what I do or how anal I get every layout seems to have my signature messy look. (It must be the rushed mood I'm always in). Anyway, the glare from my flash (I know, naughty naughty..) is driving me NUTZ, which doesn't help ANY. I really just wanted to do the layered look, FAIL. I can't help but compare my work to all the awesome pins I have on Pinterest. It's like I look at my layout (which is my own, not based off any sketch this time, just a little FYI) and I think "I really like this, it's pretty cool", then I look at Pinterest layouts and I feel >this< small. I tried misting with color (FAIL) and the layered corner look (FAIL). I'm not totally putting this down, I just wish I had the skill to make it come out the way I envisioned in my head. *Le sigh*. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Anywho, please feel free to share if any of you ever have these moments. And please tell me you have. Oh, and suggestions are welcome too. As well as tips. Especially if you've mastered any of my apparent lacking skills. (That would be much appreciated). Gosh I feel everytime I pick up my scrapping supplies I'm so out of the loop with what's trending! (Feel free to throw that in too :)</div>

Well, there you have it. Some of the layouts actually have better colors but I took the pictures at midnight so my lighting is very poor. Plus I made the very poor decision to prop the pages up infront of my lit computer screen. (Slaps forehead). Oh well. Doesn't take away from my excitement!!MommyManderzhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11204228770153061915noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6606503554984984640.post-12455706640397742422012-04-13T10:26:00.000-07:002012-04-13T10:26:54.679-07:00We have a Winner!I know I said I'd announce the winner of the comment contest tomorrow, but I figured I better do it now while I'm thinking about it so I don't leave you all hanging! <br />
<br />
I used random.org for the drawing. I have no idea how to get the picture of the random generator to copy over to my blog so I'll just tell you it's commenter #5!<br />

It's not completely finished, but I wanted to at least share some of it with you. I don't know what's going on with Blogger but it's definitely on my last nerve. Here goes another shot.<br />
<br />
IT WORKED!!!!<br />
<br />
This is the cover. I think I'm gonna add or change something. I just can't decide. I like it, but I'm not completely in love with it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5v28aAH1PLE3M2_Y2lhaKzNmGuHlyIdYCr3mdQWxK5H6Nd6xeMLcre4AUNq3jrldiniSQ9LwGu4BH_OELV0gqrTm75HdKdRwajUrurJYmRLhWr_IOlyEmjfHDy9oFHX2XAohw0UojqHFC/s1600/sweet+girl+mini+cover.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5v28aAH1PLE3M2_Y2lhaKzNmGuHlyIdYCr3mdQWxK5H6Nd6xeMLcre4AUNq3jrldiniSQ9LwGu4BH_OELV0gqrTm75HdKdRwajUrurJYmRLhWr_IOlyEmjfHDy9oFHX2XAohw0UojqHFC/s320/sweet+girl+mini+cover.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div> This page has an according style fold on Kraft cardstock. It holds several photos or journaling space. I have the twine there for now to hold it because otherwise everytime you flip the page it all comes loose.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhi8FG93ho9RCvuwKD8oFt8xt9KqkEdlA1FhIvfivS4ANE9ekqN9a89-Ofn3j3ZETKapFRJLeFBdIpJpM_WalLtUjOljm7GMsVAkZ8kEdLs8pejjCCK6AKP6oeFMcO8g-fw9tzRNXSHqvBJ/s1600/sweet+girl+mini+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhi8FG93ho9RCvuwKD8oFt8xt9KqkEdlA1FhIvfivS4ANE9ekqN9a89-Ofn3j3ZETKapFRJLeFBdIpJpM_WalLtUjOljm7GMsVAkZ8kEdLs8pejjCCK6AKP6oeFMcO8g-fw9tzRNXSHqvBJ/s320/sweet+girl+mini+1.JPG" width="212" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

I like the little flippy on the bottom part. It's held together by brads and twine. When you unravel the twine there is space in the middle for photos plus journaling on the flaps!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhk2rKep4ignE7Uh5_E63CjFgNPPJDfvN1awjkk0drxAWJwtS_jXq-9l6EKaSZi9QRNAsg5zMODG4ruC6C8yLwD63RuRLUoUlO_LL85JAxGtH6a67rq9sxHFCk8n95k2gPc_TqOn5kg6HBt/s1600/sweet+girl+mini+3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhk2rKep4ignE7Uh5_E63CjFgNPPJDfvN1awjkk0drxAWJwtS_jXq-9l6EKaSZi9QRNAsg5zMODG4ruC6C8yLwD63RuRLUoUlO_LL85JAxGtH6a67rq9sxHFCk8n95k2gPc_TqOn5kg6HBt/s320/sweet+girl+mini+3.JPG" width="212" /></a></div><br />
This I made with more recycled cereal box. I just folded in some pieces and adhered it to the album. I covered it with more cardstock as well. The tags are also pieces of cereal box. Nice and sturdy!<br />

If you are here from Scrapbooksteals.com, Welcome!<br />
<br />
I am so excited to be a part of the amazingness that goes on over at SS. Today I shared a way to upcycle cereal boxes into mini album pages. It's pretty quick & economical so you won't need to rush out and get tons of supplies. You can make it as simple or as intricate as you like<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Here is where you can find the link to the SS blog: http://scrapbooksteals.stealnetwork.com/wp/<br />
<br />
Unfortunately, I am having technical difficulties this morning and don't have the finished product to share with you just yet. In fact, thanks to Blogger not uploading my photos, I have none to share with you :(<br />
But don't fret my friends, it is coming soon! If not by tonight then by tomorrow morning/afternoon.<br />
<br />
And for stopping by you will be entered to win a little contest. The prize is a 6x6 Mini Deck of Cosmo Cricket UPcycle to upcycle your very own mini! All you have to do is leave a comment on my blog here by this Friday 11am EST. The contest is open to US and Canada. I will announce the winner Saturday afternoon. Stay tuned.<br />
<br />

MWM time that is! If I actually do have any regular blog followers then you all know by now how much I love Scrapbooksteals.com and their weekly sketches. (And chances are you do too :) This week was Amethyst 7 and Kyla did an awesome job! She did two sketches this week, I chose to do the first. It really spoke to me this week. In fact I don't think I've ever completed a sketch the same day!<br />
<br />
Here is the original :<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyYP3OrOmEYtV5eUc9gZVwT4TMaHmh-NCWEKmq2PFt-OzcLdg4cy9s2QcaHOdo6Ky9Pt5WelD09KIhtO-2RWWH0OCsQkj93CQDb0sk2WWlMKMLs_Gc8smCZTS3UyT6tiiJ8NGyg1WlI9Co/s1600/Dketch-7a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="317" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyYP3OrOmEYtV5eUc9gZVwT4TMaHmh-NCWEKmq2PFt-OzcLdg4cy9s2QcaHOdo6Ky9Pt5WelD09KIhtO-2RWWH0OCsQkj93CQDb0sk2WWlMKMLs_Gc8smCZTS3UyT6tiiJ8NGyg1WlI9Co/s320/Dketch-7a.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">And here is mine: </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeRFrCaw1zJbXy52ka6RbPxqr9-GbtW8ncSu2_D_ZOer-fLJqnBVEvosATcmv8VI9HECKWJMu01xOgoomRhSaK1aml5gy4mQbSK7FO8QzvH0IqhXePZwzgst9Ze3NDEFdaG_TDNRtxl1EG/s1600/DSC_0328.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeRFrCaw1zJbXy52ka6RbPxqr9-GbtW8ncSu2_D_ZOer-fLJqnBVEvosATcmv8VI9HECKWJMu01xOgoomRhSaK1aml5gy4mQbSK7FO8QzvH0IqhXePZwzgst9Ze3NDEFdaG_TDNRtxl1EG/s320/DSC_0328.JPG" width="319" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">My Grandpa Sanchez just came down this past weekend from North Carolina. I have a huge family and I'm so thankful many of us were able to get together for such a short time (only a few hours). </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">As I was putting this layout in my disorganized scrapbooks I came across a layout I made for the new baby before I knew the gender. (It's a boy!). I thought it deserved to be featured as well. It's also one of the MWM, however once again I don't know which one. Obviously, there is no pic yet because, well, there is no precious bundle here yet! This will be next February when he will be 7 months (unless he comes early >_< </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEio9s6gpzUV9tDXuNppNb3ciy8O3jlXWZIXRB6fMT067xDkbWMANq6b8dgFFL3IF-dSCvgcfSCvTAcnY1XDTOmvbAeLuODa9sQ5ybNYJqF8KOmzAyPxD9i_v7wgLnOQgz_am5lrCh4T4piC/s1600/DSC_0321.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEio9s6gpzUV9tDXuNppNb3ciy8O3jlXWZIXRB6fMT067xDkbWMANq6b8dgFFL3IF-dSCvgcfSCvTAcnY1XDTOmvbAeLuODa9sQ5ybNYJqF8KOmzAyPxD9i_v7wgLnOQgz_am5lrCh4T4piC/s320/DSC_0321.JPG" width="312" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div>Well, that's it for now. I actually started that mini album I mentioned in my last post, now to finish it! As for Project Life, well I haven't started yet. I have however started a Pinterest board in it's honor (that counts for something, right?).<br />
<br />
<br />
See you next time! I'm off to take my munchkin to the park to enjoy this perfect weather! If I don't post before Sunday, HAPPY EASTER :)MommyManderzhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11204228770153061915noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6606503554984984640.post-10734328358428801672012-03-20T09:39:00.000-07:002012-03-20T09:39:31.129-07:00Non Sketch Layout!I don't think I've completed a layout without a sketch in YEARS. I like the idea of having a starting point and somewhere to turn when I get stuck.<br />
<br />
BUT... I also missed feeling "free". I missed the feeling of just creating. So I made this layout from ideas I've had stuck in my mind for some time. I'm feeling pretty happy about it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWfHTX1kG-A-WQLTe3d1XiuVqhVIcPTOy2bibGrMuMZtXd1kuLdHXUp4KmEqSmieTbSuToFJNE-2aH7RRmrkO5yvW9xZc_oeoM2W0ES19AzFPpxciAWqsPab0NJk1Wm71c9KkTHMpw6N_z/s1600/DSC_0003.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWfHTX1kG-A-WQLTe3d1XiuVqhVIcPTOy2bibGrMuMZtXd1kuLdHXUp4KmEqSmieTbSuToFJNE-2aH7RRmrkO5yvW9xZc_oeoM2W0ES19AzFPpxciAWqsPab0NJk1Wm71c9KkTHMpw6N_z/s320/DSC_0003.JPG" width="305" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Now I'm off to work on a mini album. I'm not sure what the theme will be yet, but I have been wanting to start one for so long now, its about time I get on it!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Oh, and I've decided I am going to start Project Life late. I make my own rules ;)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div>MommyManderzhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11204228770153061915noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6606503554984984640.post-51686243266081601302012-03-18T16:46:00.000-07:002012-03-18T16:46:32.373-07:00Amethyst 4 (and one from forever ago).Hello all!<br />
<br />
I know its been awhile, I was on hiatus! I wanted to share this week's MWM Amethyst 4 by the talented Kristy Lee.<br />
<br />
This was the sketch:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2M7CftXoPCTM_S5Yb87DscgnIghN5OI7M_1NDvm9kxUnVc-v4SyARg-nX6sh2SZj8XoTcgeEPbGkg6Ic330Az_GoyWTP1dZmzKLdqg52e6gYP3sJeuRv5Ml2RrUqeOA1Zo4uFpK_4g1Ou/s1600/Amethyst41.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2M7CftXoPCTM_S5Yb87DscgnIghN5OI7M_1NDvm9kxUnVc-v4SyARg-nX6sh2SZj8XoTcgeEPbGkg6Ic330Az_GoyWTP1dZmzKLdqg52e6gYP3sJeuRv5Ml2RrUqeOA1Zo4uFpK_4g1Ou/s320/Amethyst41.jpg" width="308" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">And this was my pretty much EXACT interpretation:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWguMIOK2-5osyfH9YK-kCnvYOSKWUBPhK1dNBPKJUkL10vqL8OH6DN00HIVIw-xjuULbrHM1_2nAMwy7aL0M1KZeJlcTRJmND6BQ8nZOvd4pCM_8ioi4UJaksLWPQevk9rMeND3t3S16-/s1600/just+us+layout.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWguMIOK2-5osyfH9YK-kCnvYOSKWUBPhK1dNBPKJUkL10vqL8OH6DN00HIVIw-xjuULbrHM1_2nAMwy7aL0M1KZeJlcTRJmND6BQ8nZOvd4pCM_8ioi4UJaksLWPQevk9rMeND3t3S16-/s320/just+us+layout.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I'm happy to finally be back scrapping again! It feels so good to create. I was looking through the albums I've created so far and I can't tell you the accomplishment I feel. But then I just got 300+ photos in the mail from Winkflash from over the past year and now I'm back to stressing about being behind. (For those of you who just caught on, yes, I haven't printed photos in almost a year {GASP!!}). </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Do you ever feel super excited to have new prints? How long does the urge to scrap last? Mine is still going strong and I still have another 300+ prints to order before the sale is up (only6cents!!!). </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">So anyway, as I was looking back through albums I came across a layout I made back in Nov (or somewhere close) and never had pictures for! I just now printed the Halloween pics! When I made the layout I didn't realize that all my photos of the night were vertical so I had to switch my 2 horizontal placements. I really love how this one turned out!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">This is the original that I had (I can't for the life of me remember which MWM it was):</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcQ-oWvaVAyKldNHvttl19zFLflrvM_vSB1r7oIySvz8URJMw_GDy2euYzZKIx0dswJ95mEOK8oye9SF9A1eLsHw6BmThIZnW_M1RTTKfFIxcbGfTw2yNO7dYYFPQuRGCmIos0lOT7ofni/s1600/trick+or+treat+glowing.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcQ-oWvaVAyKldNHvttl19zFLflrvM_vSB1r7oIySvz8URJMw_GDy2euYzZKIx0dswJ95mEOK8oye9SF9A1eLsHw6BmThIZnW_M1RTTKfFIxcbGfTw2yNO7dYYFPQuRGCmIos0lOT7ofni/s320/trick+or+treat+glowing.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">and this is the updated version:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTy-UakhOwih94vckaTK76re4pak79xXc-e4w7icBX-sPnrp_zF8p695tcSelwuyc3sEFmzbAv08WUlhY1_L8IS7SPD4kCRHWdPbsF5hHYLiXaimft5rO7cwq-z_HmdiX8ia6uu4lfYtHK/s1600/A+Halloween+layout.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="292" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTy-UakhOwih94vckaTK76re4pak79xXc-e4w7icBX-sPnrp_zF8p695tcSelwuyc3sEFmzbAv08WUlhY1_L8IS7SPD4kCRHWdPbsF5hHYLiXaimft5rO7cwq-z_HmdiX8ia6uu4lfYtHK/s320/A+Halloween+layout.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">While I'm thinking about it, I also had a question for those of you who do Project Life... would it really be too late to start now? I'm so intrigued and I have a TON of pins on my Pinterest. (Which, btw I'll be adding a follow me button soon). Where do you get your page protectors and what kind do you use? I really just wanna dive into it!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

Now all I need to do is #2 and I'll be all caught up. But sadly that's usually what happens, I'll be on time for a while and then BAM! Just like that I'm so far behind I could cry. We just have to see what happens!<br />
<br />
Here is my latest layout. 1 of only 2 of Cory and I. I really need to start scrapping about just us.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpOw28ZABhFsBmkJcTWUterqFqCASMT1TgqAhfaWdnnf7USpzg8f4-AcNFPE2E5Xr6DP9EgwSrelkzrlmOdXb7OSvtoQTb4wRTMtQST3sTRgblOgAqMVLLtUwZRERb1_2_D30ZCedD4dUB/s1600/DSC02743.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpOw28ZABhFsBmkJcTWUterqFqCASMT1TgqAhfaWdnnf7USpzg8f4-AcNFPE2E5Xr6DP9EgwSrelkzrlmOdXb7OSvtoQTb4wRTMtQST3sTRgblOgAqMVLLtUwZRERb1_2_D30ZCedD4dUB/s320/DSC02743.JPG" width="311" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I'm really pleased with the way this came out. It's a lot simpler (is that a word?) than I originally intended. Really though that's how I get behind. I have these fantastic ideas that I end up overwhelming myself with and so I do nothing at all. I need to work myself up to the more complicated ideas. I'll get there. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

I definitely haven't had a chance to blog! It's feels good to be able to share what I've made with you all. This past week I actually got the motivation to make some things from Pinterest. I made two T-shirt scarves, a headband, and a tutu for my daughters Halloween costume. I also finished a LO from www.scrapbooksteals.com which I'm really happy to have completed. Maybe not on time, maybe not how I envisioned it, but it's a wonderful addition to my pages. I'm very happy with that!<br />
<br />
Here are my creations :)<br />
<br />
This is the LO I created from Van's sketch on www.scrapbooksteals.com<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjklkC8ML5aF_x4RprnTdcpi64yl8mAFZUXn6_a4CrbUKwzErK0WIKlJT-x4M_OtiHDuLcVgTV37eVHUa67mEsHHDC3b7F1wA9_t-ZxA7eyfUmDr6a7D_-AgCBfvYtoBVvGE4uxnY19ls_C/s1600/DSC_0349.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjklkC8ML5aF_x4RprnTdcpi64yl8mAFZUXn6_a4CrbUKwzErK0WIKlJT-x4M_OtiHDuLcVgTV37eVHUa67mEsHHDC3b7F1wA9_t-ZxA7eyfUmDr6a7D_-AgCBfvYtoBVvGE4uxnY19ls_C/s320/DSC_0349.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">These are the tshirt scarves and headband. I have lots to improve but I'm glad I got the gist of how to make them!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUeUWg7RE4nSeVFCU1v7ByTLQPexql_9NFiv2oaSwn4nYJDeQSpm84l83TG_gbh1vd3ZCFc5exmQcdscGd2LmRFWoN0Rpkj-LaogJ_ykb357E-3Y_s2fyvCBdoAcYlrTD_zJGnmkrvp_AS/s1600/DSC_0351.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUeUWg7RE4nSeVFCU1v7ByTLQPexql_9NFiv2oaSwn4nYJDeQSpm84l83TG_gbh1vd3ZCFc5exmQcdscGd2LmRFWoN0Rpkj-LaogJ_ykb357E-3Y_s2fyvCBdoAcYlrTD_zJGnmkrvp_AS/s320/DSC_0351.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<br />
And last is the tutu I made for Annistyn. She of course, wants NOTHING to do with it. I put it on her and she screams bloody murder and tries to rip it off. I really want her to be a cute little witch with leggings and the whole shebang. Oh well, we'll see!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgT1OdANqDr581iiCj4_9vTGd6R_AhHK2eoRByG1LsiUzQTmoNm1gLsltyJ_quz2uRE8JYzSdiJIfQ3lv3UZie1gazriB9IhtRsg0VgsvSRLEXqMalClWwMa689bBYLOxUTnKp9FP3JS486/s1600/DSC_0353.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgT1OdANqDr581iiCj4_9vTGd6R_AhHK2eoRByG1LsiUzQTmoNm1gLsltyJ_quz2uRE8JYzSdiJIfQ3lv3UZie1gazriB9IhtRsg0VgsvSRLEXqMalClWwMa689bBYLOxUTnKp9FP3JS486/s320/DSC_0353.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

I can't believe I've accomplished so much in my little vacation. I just finished 35 cards for the ATC swap and I'm beyond excited to mail them out. I know I just shared one but I really want to share all of them :) I did the last 12 differently (I used off white cardstock) and I am in love with the colors! Same products used as the first cards, except the cardstock color. I wish I would have made them all on the white. But then again, this was all a learning process that I'm really glad I finally got under my belt. I can't wait to complete my next mini now that I understand the embossing process. I'm so giddy!!MommyManderzhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11204228770153061915noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6606503554984984640.post-59064963194657899752011-08-16T21:38:00.000-07:002011-08-16T21:38:39.760-07:00Want in on a secret???Shh, don't tell, but I'm reallllllllly green when it comes to the inking/stamping world. I embossed my first image tonight for an artist trading card swap I'm participating in. I finally finished my first card. I really like how it turned out. I wish I wouldn't have gone so happy with all the glimmer, but I'm pleased still being my first time and all.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghGERGneYtGEFwFS3qkdoedN9JSGuFT6XRtg5U2Kp6SyRwiX9AvYJz3I4I-qettHnJvG6Nk2v-D7l36loYFoW3v3sfHHmXJdOWzbLtX0nX_iyBKdgAew0EG3onOizUWJH7y-r8ro5CPrYy/s1600/ATC+Swap.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghGERGneYtGEFwFS3qkdoedN9JSGuFT6XRtg5U2Kp6SyRwiX9AvYJz3I4I-qettHnJvG6Nk2v-D7l36loYFoW3v3sfHHmXJdOWzbLtX0nX_iyBKdgAew0EG3onOizUWJH7y-r8ro5CPrYy/s320/ATC+Swap.JPG" width="233" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I used a cardstock with a similar color to kraft paper, but not kraft paper. I inked it with Distress Ink in Barn Door and Wild Honey. I then filled a Ranger Mini Mister with a tiny bit of gold Perfect Pearls and water and misted it. I then stamped a little "water mark" bird (sorry I can't remember the stamp) with Distress in Tea Dye. Then I embossed the bird cage (MME Mabel & Grace, given to me by the awesome Kristy Lee) with some gold embossing powder(Hampton Arts, I think). Almost done, I stamped the "create" from the same stamp set as the little birdie in Distress Vintage Photo. After punching out the tiny Martha butterflies I inked them with Distress Concord Grape (I believe that's the color) and I swished on some Perfect Pearls in Pewter. Oh, and I went around the edges again with the Grape Distress for a little extra something. Tada! </div><br />

I don't know what everyone's skill level is out there in blogger world, but mine is so so. I had a layout that just wasn't going the way I envisioned in my simple little head. Thanks to Un-Do (THAT STUFF IS FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC) I was able to salvage what I could without doing any further damage. Then, right as I was about to throw in the towel I received a sweet gift from Kristy Lee, Scrapbook Steals Mojo-er herself. I commented about how I would so love to have the stamps from the MME Stella & Rose Mable line. She sent them my way! How amazingly thoughtful of her. I actually teared up when I opened it. I've never had anyone think of me like that before! So anyway, I finished my LO and that was that!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhO9YP-w-F2ZFf9Fkf5GizIweqJSJG5MocZ2dUxv4C0fyd6cl_I6h4aqVXYi3SdwCDlhipsrba9T2AK6nVkOhfuLcxHZFn1ohCkg28C4Uz7zOYQX1XifO-moi94n1BCuIuvizUjP_501Q89/s1600/stamps.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhO9YP-w-F2ZFf9Fkf5GizIweqJSJG5MocZ2dUxv4C0fyd6cl_I6h4aqVXYi3SdwCDlhipsrba9T2AK6nVkOhfuLcxHZFn1ohCkg28C4Uz7zOYQX1XifO-moi94n1BCuIuvizUjP_501Q89/s320/stamps.JPG" width="212" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">How awesomely amazing are these stamps? Really. Just look at them. I can't wait to use them for the upcoming Artist Trading Card Swap (ATC swap) I'm participating in. </div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjsqH7mI964heMdnH7W1Za76167_J2dCYb_X6Yrvj4GmE2ItE6vrFHTRAq6h8cojHi2uhmFFEY20GBnEFaNyGwPnlvu1BSQw3P3e6lscK3qbeKRXuWd-oG4gT4S51GuRAelCdvo2dOmLgsR/s1600/Topaz+%25231.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="301" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjsqH7mI964heMdnH7W1Za76167_J2dCYb_X6Yrvj4GmE2ItE6vrFHTRAq6h8cojHi2uhmFFEY20GBnEFaNyGwPnlvu1BSQw3P3e6lscK3qbeKRXuWd-oG4gT4S51GuRAelCdvo2dOmLgsR/s320/Topaz+%25231.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">This LO is what it is. I'm not thrilled about it. I'm just happy it's done. For those of you who understand my frustration at times, look into Un-Do if you don't already own it. It removes ANY adhesive without screwing up your good paper. It got off my ATG adhesive. Yeah, it's that good. </div><br />

Ever.I have to stop doing these 1 am postings... Anyway, I just completed a layout I am extremely happy with. This is the first time in a long time, if not ever, that I have been more than just 'eh' about a page. So of course, I HAD to share it immediately. This is www.scrapbooksteals.com Mid Week Mojo, Topaz #3. This week was guest designer Kristy Mackeen, who just so happens to be in my circle of scrappy friends. Awesome job, Kristy!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3HcrTMRoohNv_Cv0mhGp_WZeZEfkPDyzHCIdYN-PfCPOHiYAJpUGTWVp44IFxkvle2phPoBV3cuKWqCdSbSx3rIkl-iwdVsk_UO5NBOcruPUDqSWPa5OxLWuF_k4ef2LemGH2X2fVpLc9/s1600/my+little+pony.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="284" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3HcrTMRoohNv_Cv0mhGp_WZeZEfkPDyzHCIdYN-PfCPOHiYAJpUGTWVp44IFxkvle2phPoBV3cuKWqCdSbSx3rIkl-iwdVsk_UO5NBOcruPUDqSWPa5OxLWuF_k4ef2LemGH2X2fVpLc9/s320/my+little+pony.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I used pretty much all Sassafras in Paper Crush and some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in a few different colors. The "Pony" letters in the title are Making Memories. I made my own fan folded flower and added some miscellaneous buttons. Oh and I finally used my labeler, (is it Dynamo?) for the first time. That's it! </div><br />

Seriously, I'm tired and not so good at one liners at this hour. I just HAVE to get this LO posted or I won't be able to sleep. I realize I just posted but hey, who's counting?? Plus, I have to start filling up my blog anyway, right?<br />
<br />
For anyone who's new to my blog I am ever so thankful to the team over at www.scrapbooksteals.com for renewing my love to scrap. This is my take on Mid Week Mojo, Topaz #2<br />

Internet Debut for my very first Mini<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Ok, so I'm pretty excited to finally show off my creation. I had so much fun making this mini and I'm so proud of how it turned out. Before I get ahead of myself I have to put out a little disclaimer that this was actually made back in December. Since then I know I've picked up at least a skill or two. So basically this album is pretty, ok, really, amateur. Nonetheless I still love it and plan to make so many more. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

I wish I had a cool cartridge that cut things like this but I don't. So I cut this by hand and it folds out. You untie the ribbon at the top and fold it out. My only whine is that I wish I would have put more craftsmanship into it. It just looks sloppy. I was really tired and I made this whole album in two nights so I really rushed through it. I forced myself to finish instead of taking a break.<br />

Since I was in the Christmas spirit and it is a Christmas mini after all I made a page that opens up just like a wrapped gift would. This gave me so much space for photos and journaling.<br />

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">So that's it. My big debut. I can't wait to show myself up and really bust out what I'm capable of. I think I haven't done any minis since this because I know that if I start I may never have time for 12x12s! But more minis are in my future and I promise it won't take me 9+ months to post :)</span>MommyManderzhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11204228770153061915noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6606503554984984640.post-8774824138357480342011-07-17T17:27:00.000-07:002011-07-17T17:27:57.364-07:00WELCOME!This is my very first blog post! I can't wait to get started sharing my love of scrapping. I belong to a wonderful group of ladies called Crafty Enablers. We love to talk about where to find the best deals on everything scrappy, and of course, occasional off topic items. When we find time outside of chatting we of course, scrap! I have come to admire the talents of these amazing women. I will be posting links on the side of my blog to many of their pages so you can see their insane work. It definitely deserves recognition. The group decided to start making challenges and sketches monthly for scrapbookers everywhere to follow. Most of us started out at www.scrapbooksteals.com with their Mid-Week Mojo. Scrapbook Steals has an amazing designer, Kristy Lee, who every Wednesday pumps out fabulous sketches for us to draw inspiration from. There is also a weekly winner if the sketch wasn't the best part :)<br />
<br />
I'm fairly new to the scrapbooking world. I scrapped back in high school if you want to call it that. I had those dreadful scalloped edged scissors that I butchered my photographs with and Elmer's glued them to...wait for it...CONSTRUCTION PAPER. Ick. I put it aside during my wild and crazy early 20's and picked it back up this past year or so ago after the birth of my beautiful daughter, Annistyn. I started with MWM #3 and now am at 50. I hate to say I have a few gaps in my Mojo history, but my ultimate goal is to completely catch up, and then some. Now with the start of our Crafty Enabler's sketches looks like I have my work cut out for me!<br />
<br />
I thought I'd start out my blog by posting a few of my all time favorite LOs. Hope you enjoy :)<br />
